Where is he?

I have serious questions.  I want to know why our so-called President is doing nothing while one side of the world is falling apart?  I want to know why the US economy is in the crapper when the TARP money is almost 100% paid back?  I want to know why the Governor of California hasn't done a thing since getting into office that makes a difference?  I want to know how I'm supposed to be positive when there is more negative things happening in the world?

I want to know why people have become lazy and demand handouts.  I want to know who is really in charge and controlling the world.  I want to know why I'm alone.  I want to know why some people hate me.  I want to know what it feels like to be in love with someone who loves me back.  I want to know how it feels to have a family of my own.  I want to know when life is supposed to become enjoyable again.  I want to know how I can stop hating myself.  I want to know why I am suffering all the time.  I want to know why.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

  1. Here are some observations & comments for you, in response :-)

    1. I am a very positive person
    2. Good things happen to me all the time

I'm not saying that to rub it in your face or anything. But I believe that good things happen to me *because* I'm positive... it's not the other way around; it's not that I am positive because good things happen. So that is in response to your remark, "I want to know how I'm supposed to be positive when there is more negative things happening in the world?"

Have you ever heard of or read or watched 'The Secret'? It's a book and a movie. It's a good one to listen to on CD while driving. Have you ever thought about buying a certain kind of car, and then all of a sudden you start seeing it out on the streets, everywhere you go? Well, The Secret is all about the fact that we humans will notice (and in fact create) more & more of whatever we focus on. So if we're thinking a lot about getting a white Jeep, we'll start seeing a white Jeep every single day. Because now we're "tuned" into them.

So I have a challenge for you...

Consider this: What if thinking a lot about/focusing on all of the things that you hate (about yourself or others) and that make you feel like you hate yourself/you're suffering/you don't enjoy life/you're alone (your comments from above) *actually* makes those things stand out to you more?? And makes them more likely to appear?? IF focusing on them does indeed do this, then it would mean that you would actually have a portion of control over them appearing in your life then, right?

    So here's the challenge...
    1. Accept that focusing on negative things may actually create more negative things in your life
    2. Become more self-aware of the prevalence of your negative/complaining thoughts
    3. Break the habit of focusing on negative things
    4. Develop a new habit of focusing on positive things
    5. Decide if being positive actually does create more things in your life to be positive about :-)

    Here's how...
    1. Re-read under 'consider this' above.
    2. Wear a rubberband on your wrist and move it to the other one every time you notice yourself thinking or complaining about something you *don't* like, whether it's in your mind or out loud
    3. Do this for 21 days. (The experts say that it takes 21 days to break a bad habit.)
    4. Get a new rubberband (in a different color) or a bracelet or ring, and move it to the other hand every time you notice yourself thinking or saying something out loud about something you *do* like, that you've noticed/witnessed/pondered
    5. Do this for 21 days. At the end of the 6 weeks, think back and decide if you enjoy life more/feel happier than you did before you began the challenge.
